Dr. Florian Kohl, Vice President & President, Epoxy & International and General Manager Blue Water Alliance is a Corporate Officer and serves as a member of Olin Corporation’s Executive Leadership Team reporting to Olin President & CEO Kenneth T. Lane.

Florian was appointed to his current role in April 2024. He joined Olin in March 2023 as General Manager, Blue Water Alliance and was tasked with driving the activities necessary to ensure the success of Olin’s newly formed joint venture with Mitsui & Co, Ltd. by growing and enabling reliable caustic soda and EDC trade and liquidity management utilizing the combined strengths of each partner.

Prior to joining Olin, Florian worked for Celanese Corporation for 22 years, where he held multiple roles with increasing levels of responsibility in general management, M&A Integration, global supply chain, and procurement leadership based in the US, Germany and China. His final role at Celanese was Vice President, Global Vinyls Chain & Head of Acetyls Americas for which he had full P&L responsibility for its $2.5 billion Global Vinyl Chain businesses.

In 2016, he was appointed CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Fairway Methanol LLC (an operations joint venture for a newly built 1.5 MM mt Methanol plant between Celanese and Mitsui & Co, Ltd.), a role he maintained until his departure from Celanese.

In addition to leading Olin's global R&D team, he also serves as the executive sponsor of Olin's Science Corner Network, which provides employees and teams an opportunity to learn, share, and explore scientific information, art, and cultural evolution in an open and casual environment for networking, learning, and innovative conversation.

Florian holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemistry, from Technical University Munich in Germany. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt, Procurement/Supply Chain.
